
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His most famous character was Thomas Magnum, a private investigator in Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988) in which he received five Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead actor in the Drama Series and won in 1985. Since the year 2010, Selleck has been co-starring as New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the series Blue Bloods. In nine TV films based upon the Robert B. Parker novels and plays, he was Jesse Stone, a troubled small-town police chiefwho began his career in 2005. Selleck also starred in Three Men and a Baby (1987) as well as Three Men and a Little Lady(1990). In addition to his role in Magnum, P.I., Selleck has appeared in more than 50 movies and television shows, which include the movies Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He appeared in recurring television characters as Monica Geller's love interest Dr. Richard Burke on Friends and also as Lance White, the likeable and innocent partner in The Rockford Files, and as the owner of the casino A.J. Cooper in Las Vegas. He also had a lead role in the television western film The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran and is a spokesperson for National Rifle Association (NRA), an endorser in advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
