
Anthony David Gonzalez was conceived in Torrance on February 27th, 1976. He was raised in the southern part of California, and attended Huntington Beach High School where the school was where he played at the top on both football and basketball teams. Gonzalez continued to excel in both sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He helped lead the football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set a record in the school for receiving nine receptions and set it again. Gonzalez played with the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of NCAA basketball tournament just a few months after. After graduating from highschool Gonzalez was selected in the 1997 NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as the 13th overall pick. Gonzalez was a member of the Chiefs from 1997 to 2008. He was then traded to the Atlanta Falcons. After Gonzalez's first NFL year, he was able to catch not less than 59 of them per season.
