
Suzanne Pleshette, born 31 January 1937, who died 19 January 2008 was an American film theatre, television and voice actor. Pleshette started her stage career and appeared in films in late 1950s. Then, she became an actor of note in films such as Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). She later appeared in various television productions, often in guest roles. She played Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 to 1978, earning several Emmy Award nominations for her work. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan), and Eugene Pleshette. She was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York City on the 31st of January, 1937. The parents of her were Jewish and were the children of emigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary.Her mother was a dancer and artist who performed under the stage name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was a stage director at both the Paramount Theater and the Paramount Theater in Manhattan.
